I had some serious health issues as a result of an automobile accident and suffered through multiple surgeries. Six months after the last surgery I went to my first Pilates Class kicking and screaming - my wife is a long time Pilates user and told me I had better go , or else. Today, one year later, I'm not only back to where I was pre-surgeries, in many ways I'm better. I'm definitely more flexible and cand o many of the exercises I couldn't do early on in the classes. I also asked my instructor to hone in on my back, I'd had some lingering problems before the accident. Today, I'm euphoric, my back concerns are history.
I'm one of those types who have always loved sports and games and hated the pre game stretching and exercise routines. No more. Today I'm a Pilates believer.

Over the years, I have had chronic low back pain - from sitting, cycling, running or other activities. I had tried a variety of exercises, including yoga, physical therapy and stretching, but none of them worked consistently. When I started doing pilates a few years ago I quickly realized that my lower back pain was linked to a weak core. Doing pilates once per week has taken care of the problem and virtually eliminated my low back pain.

I really enjoy all my classes at Pilates! You have some very exceptional teachers on your staff! They are all have a wealth of knowledge regarding Pilates and the body mechanics and also very warm, friendly, and patient with all us students. Pilates has helped me tremendously with my chronic back aches and pains. (now 60 years young, ...), gaining more strength in my core and now starting to see my body toning up and loosing some weight also. So very glad your Pilates Connection is there for us!

Having exercised all my life, it was difficult to be told that my debilitating back pain was due to a 
degenerative disc in my lower back. Hearing from a friend that Pilates would help change 
my life and my pain, I had a consultation and a free lesson. At that time I was in constant pain, 
unable to move comfortably, do any exercise, or complete the basic tasks of life. Gabi and her

The quick results of only two sessions to improve my balance for my ballroom dancing is amazing. 
I had not expected to see results so soon. In the afternoon, you had me doing balance exercises 
for the second week. That evening I danced the Viennese Waltz with a new control of my body.

When we met five years ago at the initial assessment, one of my goals was to be able 
to mount my horse without the use of a stool, tree stump or rock along the trail. I met 
that goal this weekend! I went riding and I had to dismount. I dismounted without looking 
around to find a mounting spot to get back on my horse and then realized there were no 
stumps or rocks around that I could see. I then engaged my core, used my hamstrings 
and lats and popped up so fast on the saddle I startled myself and this was using my weak knee 
as well! It would never have happened without Pilates.

I need to thank you for some fun that I had yesterday. I went sailing (boat) at Elk Lake yesterday 
with my son and 2 grandchildren. I was able with my feet in the hiking straps and sitting on the 
rail to lean straight out in plank position from the boat, then arch back and drag my head in the water. Following that, of course, I brought up my head and chest – then rolled up to get back on board. 
Very fun! Did it several times.

I am a diabetic and I have major lower back problems. Working with Gabi and taking her Pilates class 
was the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. The Pilates has helped me to both strengthen 
my back and to attain better control of my diabetes. Taking it with Gabi has helped me to get the most 
out of Pilates. She is the best instructor I have ever had as she not only taught me the moves but helped me to do them carefully and correctly.

Working with Gabi in private sessions on the Pilates machine has done wonders for my body. Her style 
of training is unmatched to others and with her hands-on approach you learn the techniques correctly 
getting the most from your body with little effort. With a bad back, I have been able to strengthen my 
muscles using the Reformer, what a difference the use of the machine has made for lessening my back 
pain and strengthening my muscles.
